At Convention last year, delegates passed a resolution calling for a pilot project to help churches make better use of the Internet, particularly to help churches better use web sites for evangelism.

Applications for participation in that project are now available and are due on August 6, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

All churches in the diocese are invited to apply; up to ten churches will be selected to participate.

Churches selected will enjoy:
·      Help building and/or maintaining your church website.
·      Access to free training webinars on Internet evangelism and helpful tools for making your website search friendly and seeker friendly.
·      Help making your church website to be more attractive to visitors and seekers, as well as current members/users.
·      New or renewed relationships with other churches in the diocese as you share knowledge and skill with other participating congregations
·      A community of interest in evangelism through the internet..
·      Access to a resource community for input and assistance with problem solving and creative brainstorming.

More details are available on the attached application. (The link goes to a Word file; if you would prefer a PDF, go here.)

In the coming weeks, members of the task force will be contacting you by phone to see if you have any questions or need any additional information.  We hope you will consider applying to be part of pilot!

Please feel free to email the Internet Evangelism Pilot Project Task Force with any questions, or you can reach the Chair, the Rev. Michael Barham, by phone at (808) 955-7745, x201.
